The Campaign

For there to be true equality, balance in the making positions representation of men and women in senior and decision making positions within unions is necessary. For this reason, in May 2010 we launched a proposal. to the UNI Management Board to increase women representation in all UNI structures and decision making bodies by 40%. This motion was presented at the 3rd UNI World Congress which took place in Nagasaki in November 2010 under the name: “Breaking Through”.

This name was born out of a need for change in a world with globalized markets and new labour markets, where women need to break barriers in terms of women representation, towards equality.
